FamilyLoop

Terms of Service

Effective August 4, 2026 · version 2026-08-04

1. The service

FamilyLoop is a shared family organizer: calendars, lists, photos, and displays. By creating an account or requesting a family, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

2. Accounts and families

You're responsible for your account credentials and for the people you invite into your family. New families require approval by the operator of this FamilyLoop instance, who may approve or deny requests at their discretion. You must provide accurate information and be legally able to enter this agreement.

3. Your content

Everything your family puts into FamilyLoop — events, lists, photos, names, dates — belongs to your family. We claim no ownership. You grant us only the technical rights needed to store, back up, transmit, and display that content to your family members and to guests you explicitly share it with, as the product requires. Don't upload content that's illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have permission to share.

4. Privacy modes and keys

Families choose a privacy mode that applies to photos. In managedmode, we hold your family's encryption key and can recover your account. In zero-knowledge mode, only your family holds the key: if the family passphrase and recovery code are both lost, your protected photos are permanently unrecoverable and we cannot help. Choosing zero-knowledge means accepting that risk. Calendar events, lists, and invitations are processed by our servers in both modes, because features like guest links and email reminders require it; the Privacy Policy describes exactly what that means. Mode changes are made by the family owner, are confirmed with explicit acknowledgments, and are recorded.

5. Acceptable use

Don't attempt to access other families' data, probe or disrupt the service, reverse engineer it beyond what law permits, use it to harass anyone, or store content that is unlawful to store. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. Availability and changes

We aim to keep FamilyLoop available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. If we make material changes to these terms, we'll post the new version with a new version date; continued use after that is acceptance.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including data loss — especially data loss resulting from a lost zero-knowledge key.

8. Termination

You can stop using FamilyLoop and delete your family at any time. We may terminate accounts for violations of these terms. On deletion, family data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.
